About The Position
The Medical Assistant supports quality, compassionate patient care in a family medicine clinic. Working under the direct supervision of providers and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical tasks that contribute to a positive and efficient healthcare experience. The role is part of a physician network delivering patient-centered care across Michigan.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship of at least 160 hours, or equivalent experience as outlined in the job description.
- Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.
Nice To Haves
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and help ensure a welcoming, comfortable environment.
- Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
- Measure and record vital signs to support patient assessments.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
