About The Position

The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with physicians and/or advanced practice providers in an ambulatory care setting. The role assists with preparing and delivering ambulatory patient care as directed by providers and other licensed clinical personnel. The Medical Assistant consistently performs clinical duties according to established departmental policies and procedures. Care is based on the nursing process and supports the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting, with an emphasis on good customer relations.

The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with 40 standard weekly hours. The position is located at the Dodson Medical Office Building in the Surgery-Pediatrics Clinic. Cook Children’s is a Texas-only employer; employees must maintain their primary residence in Texas and maintain licenses and credentials required for their position throughout employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant school or current medical assistant certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Maintain primary residence in Texas throughout employment.
• Maintain licenses and credentials required for the position throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• Insurance authorization experience.
• National certification.
