About The Position

The Medical Assistant performs delegated clinical and administrative functions in the care of patients under the direct supervision of a provider and practice manager. The role supports patient care in person, by telephone, and through telehealth, while adhering to professional standards and state regulations. The position is with Foundation Medical Partners’ Hematology Oncology practice, whose Cancer Center provides coordinated, multidisciplinary care for cancer and blood disorders, including access to advanced diagnostics, clinical trials, and Mass General-affiliated specialists.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a medical assisting program and clinical externship.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Certification or registration by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
At least 2 years of experience as a clinical medical assistant.
Knowledge of medical terminology and office workflow.
Strong interpersonal communication, time management, and customer service skills.
Ability to adapt to change and work as part of a team.
Basic computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

Three years of experience as a clinical medical assistant.
Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

Support patient care in person, by phone, and through telehealth under provider supervision, including patient assessment and care coordination.
Administer medications, treatments, immunizations, and point-of-care testing.
Collect patient histories and communicate findings to providers.
Maintain accurate medical record documentation.
Assist with pre-visit planning, preventive care outreach, and related administrative functions.
Mentor and train staff.
Uphold safety and compliance standards.
Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
