About The Position

A Medical Assistant provides care to patients with acute and chronic needs in an ambulatory clinic setting and communicates with patients through telephone and in-person interactions. At Intermountain Health, the role supports the clinical team and helps ensure patients receive quality care. Under the direction of a clinician, the Medical Assistant assists the provider in gathering information relevant to a patient’s visit and condition, communicates effectively with patients, and collaborates with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and follow-through are important to delivering needed care.

Requirements

Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program, one year of Medical Assistant experience, or a current RN/LPN license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, obtained before the start date.
Basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver a high level of customer and patient satisfaction.
Ability to protect patient, member, and caregiver privacy, confidentiality, and protected health information.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
Computer literacy with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
Current national Medical Assistant certification or registration: RMA from AMT, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA from AAMA.
