About The Position
As a Medical Assistant, you will support smooth daily operations for patients and the medical team, assisting multiple patients daily depending on physician availability. The role includes preparing patient charts, assisting with examinations and procedures, relaying physician instructions, administering physician-directed medication, measuring vital signs, managing charts and electronic medical records, communicating patient concerns to providers, and coordinating medication authorizations and refills with physicians, insurance companies, and pharmacies. Success requires enthusiasm for helping others, efficiency, and empathy for patients. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW. Dignity Health Medical Group – North State, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, is a multispecialty clinic with eleven locations in Redding and Red Bluff. It works with affiliated local hospitals to provide integrated care across a range of specialties.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions, or equivalent military training. Equivalency is determined by Dignity Health Medical Foundation HR in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire.

Responsibilities
