About The Position

UW Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Family Medicine team. The role supports providers who diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, provide gynecological and urgent care, and promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education. The Medical Assistant provides quality care in a compassionate, patient- and family-centered environment.

The position is part-time at 60% FTE, or 24 hours per week, on the day shift. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with hours that may vary based on department operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program, or one of the listed alternative pathways: LPN licensure; completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program; attainment of CCMA certification as a UWH employee; acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated; or one year of recent Medical Assistant experience with CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
• Certification as an MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within one year, or LPN licensure upon hire.
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document chief complaints, medications, and allergies.
