About The Position

The Medical Assistant role at Charlevoix Surgeons is 75% scheduling for the OR and Endoscopy and 25% clinical. The position completes clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic, works alongside providers to support patient care and smooth clinic operations, and serves as a first point of patient care. Duties include rooming and preparing patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures; measuring weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure; completing patient-care documentation such as medical histories and referral requests; and assisting teammates and providers with day-to-day operations as needed. The position is located at 14695 Park Ave Ste A, Charlevoix, Michigan, and is scheduled for 32 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• Credentialed Medical Assistant: credentialing as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• Non-credentialed Medical Assistant: one year of relevant experience in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in provider/patient support, or graduation from a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare.
• BLS certification is preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
• BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule for the OR and Endoscopy; this makes up 75% of the position.
• Complete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic.
• Work alongside providers to support patient care and smooth clinic operations.
• Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures.
• Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Complete required patient-care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests.
• Assist teammates and providers with day-to-day operations as needed.
