About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports quality, compassionate patient care in an internal medicine setting. Under the supervision of providers and nursing leadership, the role performs administrative and clinical tasks that support providers and help ensure an effective, seamless patient experience. Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Meet one of the following qualification pathways: graduate from a Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship of at least 160 hours; graduate from a Medical Assistant program without a clinical externship and have at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years; hold a current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification and have at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience; be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); be a licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years; or be military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and record vital signs and prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures while supporting patient comfort and safety.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the clinical team and enhance patient care.
