About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at Henry Ford Health, you will support providers and nursing leadership by performing administrative and clinical tasks that contribute to quality, compassionate care and a seamless patient experience. You will work within Henry Ford Medical Group, which delivers coordinated care across primary and specialty practices, collaborating with colleagues and helping build lasting relationships with patients and communities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Meet one of the following qualification pathways: graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship of at least 160 hours; graduate of a Medical Assistant program without a clinical externship and at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years; current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification and at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years; or military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• Experience with EPIC (Electronic Medical Record).

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and record accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and document vital signs to contribute to patient assessments.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and readiness.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures to facilitate efficient care delivery.
