Jefferson Healthcare is hiring apprentices for an 18-month Medical Assistant training program. Each apprentice is partnered with an experienced Medical Assistant-Certified coach who provides mentorship and hands-on training across multiple clinics to prepare the apprentice for the Medical Assistant exam. The program includes 2,000 hours of on-the-job training, 410 hours of supplemental online coursework, and three in-person lab days that require travel. The program offers a set wage of $24.88 per hour for the first 1,000 hours and $24.96 per hour for hours 1,001–2,000. Tuition is covered by Jefferson Healthcare, subject to tuition payback provisions. Current Jefferson Healthcare employees retain their employee benefits. The role supports patient care and clinic operations under provider direction and within the apprentice’s scope of practice. Duties include welcoming and escorting patients, taking vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting providers, conducting directed laboratory procedures and phlebotomy, and helping maintain safe, efficient patient flow.
