About The Position
Saint Luke's is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Medical Assistant to work in its Convenient Care Clinic at Troost. This full-time role combines direct patient care, clinical support, and front-office responsibilities in a fast-paced outpatient setting providing accessible, same-day care. The Medical Assistant supports providers, coordinates patient care, and helps ensure efficient clinic operations while serving patients of all ages. The role includes working with providers and clinic staff, assisting with clinical procedures and patient care needs, and supporting front-desk workflows such as registration and check-in. The position requires rotating weekend coverage. Candidates who are adaptable, dependable, organized, and committed to compassionate, patient-centered care are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- One year of applicable experience.
- Ability to work rotating weekends as part of the clinic schedule.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Verify insurance information.
- Screen walk-in patients.
- Perform telephone triage and screening using established protocols.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide medication and injection education.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures.
- Clean wounds and perform dressing changes.
- Provide customer service during patient interactions.
- Cover front-desk responsibilities, including patient registration and check-in.
- Support clinic operations and patient flow.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic needs.
