About The Position

US Fertility is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join the team at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia. The role supports fertility patients through phlebotomy and clinical assistance, patient education, specimen handling, and related procedures. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Compensation is $20 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Strong phlebotomy skills.
High school diploma.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
Comfort with computer applications and accuracy and speed in data entry.
At least one year of prior healthcare experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a formal medical assistant program.

Responsibilities

Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
Maintain supplies for blood-drawing stations.
Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
Ensure lab specimens are sent to the proper laboratories.
Provide patient and couple counseling and procedure teaching; communicate physician orders and instructions.
Provide pre- and post-operative education.
Perform semen washes and set up for intrauterine inseminations (IUIs).
Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
Use the computer to enter laboratory information and print labels.
Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
Work independently to help achieve program goals.
Support and promote excellence in customer service.
