About The Position

US Fertility, the nation’s leading partnership of physician-led fertility practices, is hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist for Shady Grove Fertility in Annapolis, Maryland. The role supports fertility patients through phlebotomy and other clinical tasks, specimen handling, patient education, and compassionate care. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, with compensation of $20 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Strong phlebotomy skills.
High school diploma.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
Comfort with computer applications, with accuracy and speed in data entry.
At least one year of prior healthcare experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a formal medical assistant program.

Responsibilities

Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
Maintain supplies for blood-drawing stations.
Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
Ensure laboratory specimens are sent to the proper labs.
Provide patient and couple counseling, procedure teaching, and communication of physician orders and instructions.
Provide pre- and postoperative education.
Perform semen washes and set up for IUIs.
Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
Use the computer to enter lab information and print labels.
Create a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
Work independently to help achieve program goals.
Support and promote excellence in customer service.
