About The Position

US Fertility has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Shady Grove Fertility in Towson, Maryland. The role supports fertility patients and clinical teams through phlebotomy, general clinical assistance, patient education, specimen handling, and related procedures. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday, starting at 6:30 AM and ending when the shift is complete, typically between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Compensation is $20 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• Strong phlebotomy skills.
• High school diploma.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
• Comfort with computer applications, with accuracy and speed in data entry.
• At least one year of prior healthcare experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
• Maintain supplies for blood-drawing stations.
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
• Ensure laboratory specimens are sent to the proper laboratories.
• Provide patient and couple counseling and procedure teaching; communicate physician orders and instructions.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative education.
• Perform semen washes and prepare for IUIs.
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
• Use the computer to enter laboratory results and print labels.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
• Work independently to help achieve program goals.
• Support and promote excellence in customer service.
