About The Position

US Fertility has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Shady Grove Fertility in Towson, Maryland. The position supports fertility patients and the clinical team through phlebotomy, specimen handling, clinical assistance, patient education, and related procedures. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday, starting at 6:30 AM and ending between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Compensation is $20 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Strong phlebotomy skills.
High school diploma.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
Comfort with computer applications and accuracy and speed in data entry.
At least one year of prior healthcare experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations.
Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
Ensure laboratory specimens are sent to the proper laboratories.
Provide patient and couple counseling and procedure teaching, and communicate physician orders and instructions.
Provide pre- and post-operative education.
Perform semen washes and prepare for IUIs.
Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
Use a computer to enter laboratory information and print labels.
Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
Work independently to ensure program goals are achieved.
Support and promote excellence in customer service.
