About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Associate (MA/PSA) will work at Glenbrook Hospital within the Medical Group Ortho department. This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, with shifts Monday-Friday between 7 AM and 7 PM, and 1-2 Saturday rotations per quarter. The role involves providing administrative and clinical support to a physician practice, ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent patient care. The position is primarily based at Glenbrook but may require flexibility to work at other ortho locations including Skokie, Lincolnshire, and Des Plaines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
  • One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required
