About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) in OBGYN at Highland Park is a full-time role responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to a physician practice. This position involves patient interaction, appointment scheduling, co-payment collection, patient registration, insurance verification, and escorting patients to exam rooms. The role also includes documenting patient information such as vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for the visit. Basic vitals, phlebotomy, and injections may also be required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
  • One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required
