About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work in the Adult Endocrinology department of the Medical Group. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with operating hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The role involves a combination of administrative and clinical support tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the physician practice and provide excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • One year of work experience required
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
  • previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required
