About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work with the Trauma Care Team at Glenbrook Hospital primarily, as well as Skokie and Lincolnshire Ortho offices as needed. This role involves answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting co-payments, completing patient registration, and providing other administrative support to the physician practice. Responsibilities also include checking patients in and out, verifying insurances, greeting patients and escorting them to exam rooms, documenting vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for the office visit. Basic vitals such as BP, height, and weight will be performed, and phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
One year of work experience required
Strong clinical skills
Epic experience

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred

Responsibilities

Answer phones
