Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) - Medical Group Nephrology
About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) role within the Medical Group Nephrology team is a full-time position (40 hours per week) located in Evanston, IL. The position operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role involves a combination of administrative and clinical support duties to ensure the smooth operation of the physician practice and excellent patient care. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
- One year of work experience required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
- Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
