About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse for its Dermatology specialty. The role is in a fast-paced environment and requires a unique skill set that includes scribing. The schedule is four 10-hour day shifts per week, with one day off each week, for 40 scheduled hours per week. Medical Assistants work within the scope of practice established for their state and, in ambulatory care, collect and communicate patient health-status information, contribute data to licensed healthcare professionals, and follow through on care plans under provider direction. They communicate specified written care instructions and support patients across preventive care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up. Duties may include taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, observing and reporting signs or symptoms, and performing point-of-care testing. Licensed Practical Nurses participate in implementing and evaluating patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. They help ensure patient health, comfort, and safety; document medical histories; contribute to assessments; administer ordered medications or treatments; provide technical support; and counsel patients and family members on prevention and treatment plans under registered nurse direction. LPNs practice within their nursing expertise and use age- and population-specific standards for their clinical setting.
