About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse for its Family Practice clinic. The Wisconsin Rapids clinic provides a team-focused environment supported by four established primary care providers. The role serves patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up. The primary work location is Wisconsin Rapids, with as-needed staffing coverage in Stevens Point. The schedule is 2–3 days per week. In the ambulatory setting, the Medical Assistant gathers subjective and objective health-status information from patients or caregivers and communicates it to healthcare providers. The MA contributes data to licensed professionals, follows through on care plans under provider direction, and communicates providers’ written care instructions. Duties may include obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, observing and reporting symptoms, and performing point-of-care testing under the direct supervision of a person licensed to practice medicine. The LPN participates in implementing and evaluating patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN helps ensure patients’ health, comfort, and safety; documents medical histories; contributes to patient assessments; administers ordered medications or treatments; provides technical support; and counsels patients and family members on prevention and treatment plans under a registered nurse’s direction. The LPN practices within the scope of nursing expertise and uses age- and population-specific standards for the assigned clinical setting.
