About The Position

Mass General Brigham Medical Group Northern Massachusetts, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant Lead to join their state-of-the-art facility in Danvers, MA. This facility focuses on a compassionate, family-focused approach to primary care, aiming to build strong relationships with patients and provide personalized care in a friendly atmosphere. The Medical Assistant Lead will oversee and coordinate the daily schedules of 12 Medical Assistants, support new workflows, ensure effective communication, review charge reconciliation, assist with vaccine coordination, and collaborate with the training team for staff development. The role requires strong organizational skills, time management, and flexibility. The MA Lead will also room patients as needed and interact with leadership, staff, and other offices. This role is a vital member of the care team, responsible for leadership and oversight of clinical operations and Medical Assistant staff under the direction of the Practice Manager. The position serves as a role model and resource for site staff, acting as a liaison between clinical staff, the Practice Manager, and the Medical Director or Physicians. The Lead facilitates office-wide communication, coordinates new clinical initiatives, and addresses clinical issue resolutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of direct Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a primary care setting.
  • Prior experience in a clinical leadership role.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant - required.
  • Experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
  • 3-5 years required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily schedules of the Medical Assistants.
  • Support the implementation of new workflows and processes.
  • Ensure effective verbal and written communication across the team.
  • Review charge reconciliation.
  • Assist with vaccine coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with the training team to support staff development.
  • Room patients as needed.
  • Interact regularly with leadership, staff, and other offices.
  • Provide leadership to the medical assisting team, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper workload distribution and effective utilization of resources.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Coordinate patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Participates in the interview process for new MAs and serves as a preceptor for new hires or students, supervising clinic support staff and creating coverage schedules for the MA team.
  • Assists with competency assessment for other MAs and provides input on performance evaluations.
  • Assists in complex office-based procedures and provides clinical oversight for quality control programs.
