Medical Assistant II
About The Position
The Medical Assistant II works in the Pulmonology and Sleep department at Prime Healthcare Medical Group in Olympia Fields, Illinois. The role supports providers with patient care, clerical work, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and environmental and organizational tasks. It also involves scheduling appointments, managing charts, and providing patients with information so they can fully use and benefit from clinic services. The Medical Assistant II conveys a positive image of the organization. All clinical tasks must be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician (MD, DO, APN, or PA) who is physically present in the facility and immediately available. The role is full-time, scheduled Monday through Friday on the day shift. The listed compensation estimate, including wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $22.00 to $27.00. Actual starting compensation is determined during applicant selection based on factors such as skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
Requirements
- At least six months of experience in an urgent care or primary care physician practice setting and/or direct patient care experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
- Fluency in English.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire, if required by the department.
