About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Ambulatory Float Pool. The Medical Assistant is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. Under the direction of management and physician leadership, the role performs and oversees activities within its scope of practice, including supporting patient flow, assisting with healthcare delivery, and performing technical procedures and clinically oriented activities. The Medical Assistant also supports office efficiency and effective operations in accordance with policies and procedures, helping physicians, clinical staff, and management promote customer satisfaction.

The position is based at the Corewell Health Southfield Center and is part-time, with 24 scheduled hours per week. The shift is daytime, with variable hours between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., on variable weekdays from Monday through Friday. Weekend work is not scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency-based Medical Assistant training program, or six months of experience within the last seven years as an LPN, EMT, ER Tech, or paramedic.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

• May consider a nursing student from an accredited registered or licensed practice nurse program after a clinical course of study has begun.
• One year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting.
