About The Position

ChristianaCare Primary Care at Springside in Glasgow, Delaware, is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and technical and clinical skills. The practice provides comprehensive primary care for adults and children, including gynecology and women’s health, immunizations, physical examinations, preventive medicine, and treatment for acute and chronic conditions. On-site lab services are also available. The Medical Assistant I supports physicians in virtual and on-site patient care by performing clinical and clerical duties that help ensure quality care. The role includes greeting and preparing patients for visits, performing basic clinical tasks, assisting with examinations, maintaining exam rooms and equipment, and managing patient communications and administrative workflows. The work schedule is Monday and Wednesday, 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; and Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. There are no weekend or holiday shifts. The hourly pay range is $19.48–$28.24; the actual rate depends on individual skills, relevant experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification from a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented, with strong communication, integrity, and technical and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
Prepare patients for visits.
Perform basic clinical tasks, including testing, injections, and EKGs.
Assist physicians with examinations.
Maintain examination rooms and equipment.
Update electronic medical records (EMRs).
Manage patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
Handle clerical duties.
Troubleshoot video visits and support patient portal access.
