This position is responsible for assisting providers and the nursing care team in the delivery of professional medical care. Specific duties include pre-visit planning, rooming patients, obtaining vitals, documenting in the EMR, various clerical duties, administering medications, telephone screening (with protocols), phlebotomy (requires competency), assist with procedures, and duties as assigned based on clinic need. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor are required. This role is part of a 10-week paid Medical Assistant Training Cohort Program designed to provide participants with a comprehensive review of body systems, including pharmacology, medical terminology, lab values, and BLS certification. Trainees will also be introduced to Saint Luke’s culture with an emphasis on customer service and patient safety. The program includes in-class didactic content, clinicals with an instructor, and home clinic orientation with a Success Coach.
