About The Position

The Gray Media Training Program is a 10-week immersive experience designed to train the next generation of media professionals in producing, reporting, weather forecasting, and sales. Participants will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced local media environment, contributing to real-world assignments that reach a wide audience. This program offers an opportunity to work side-by-side with experienced professionals, create digital content, and build a professional portfolio. It serves as a potential fast-track to full-time career opportunities within Gray Media's extensive network of stations.

Requirements

  • Current college student (Junior or Senior status preferred).
  • Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A proactive and initiative-taking attitude ('doer' mindset).
  • Understanding of multi-platform media (digital, social, broadcast).
  • Strong work ethic, organization, and a positive attitude.
  • Effective communication skills for storytelling, pitching, and explaining information.
  • Commitment to the full 10-week program and a 25-hour weekly schedule.
  • Passion for local communities and the impact of local media.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in News/MMJ, News Production, Sports, Weather, Engineering, Creative Services, Marketing, or Sales.
