Med Tech (Part-Time)(1st shift) - The Fountains in Cartersville
About The Position
The Fountains of Cartersville is seeking Certified Medication Technicians to administer medications and oversee resident care in an Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. This is a part-time, first-shift role (7 a.m.–3 p.m.) requiring availability to work every weekend only. Candidates must have a CMA certification. The Medication Technician supports residents while following community policies, procedures, safety practices, and confidentiality requirements. The role includes documenting care, reporting changes in residents’ conditions, and communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Successful completion of a State Approved Medication Aide course.
- CMA certification.
- Personal Care Assistant or Certified Nursing certification.
- Ability to communicate adequately in writing and orally, and effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for seniors without posing a substantial safety or health threat to oneself or others.
- Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.
- Availability to work every weekend only, on first shift (7 a.m.–3 p.m.).
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a positive working relationship with residents, family members, and staff.
- Promote and protect residents’ rights and treat residents with dignity and respect.
- Attend in-service and education programs and obtain continuing education required by state regulations.
- Remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the community dress code.
- Complete documentation in an informative and descriptive manner.
- Report changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor as soon as possible.
- Complete work schedules and assigned tasks in accordance with community policies and procedures.
- Operate equipment safely and use only equipment for which prior training has been received.
- Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
