About The Position

The Fountains of Cartersville is seeking Certified Medication Technicians for medication administration-related roles in an Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. Medication Technicians deliver high-quality medication administration and oversee resident care. This is a part-time, first-shift opportunity (7 a.m.–3 p.m.) requiring availability every weekend only. A CMA certification is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide course.
• Personal Care Assistant or Certified Nursing Certification required.
• Ability to express oneself adequately in written and oral communication and communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for seniors without posing a substantial safety or health threat to oneself or others.
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.
• Must have CMA certification.
• Must be available to work every weekend only.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive working relationships with residents, family members, and staff.
• Promote and protect residents’ rights, treating residents with dignity and respect.
• Attend in-service and education programs and obtain continuing education required by state regulations.
• Remain calm under stressful conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain a professional appearance by following the community dress code.
• Complete documentation in an informative and descriptive manner.
• Report changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor as soon as possible.
• Complete work schedules and assigned tasks according to community policies and procedures.
• Operate equipment safely and use only equipment for which prior training has been received.
• Use infection-control precautions and practices in all activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
