About The Position

The Med Tech is a non-exempt, hourly position responsible for providing quality care and services to residents and their families. The role provides medication administration assistance according to residents’ care plans and physicians’ orders, under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN. The Med Tech also maintains accurate medical records, supports residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity, and reports changes in residents’ condition to a supervisor. All shifts are available.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing.
• Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience working with seniors in Personal Care, Home Health, a hospital, or a Long-Term Care environment.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Valid HHA.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medication and/or assist residents with self-administration according to care plans and physician orders, under RN and/or LPN supervision.
• Maintain related medical records and written documentation accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Complete required annual medication training.
• Provide resident care in accordance with each resident’s care plan.
• Maintain residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity when delivering services.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition, and emotional status to a supervisor.
