About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support active engineering projects and learn from experienced professionals across multiple disciplines. The intern will work with a collaborative team and contribute to design calculations, drawings, technical documents, project documentation, research, and analysis. The role offers mentorship and hands-on experience with industry-standard software, including Carrier HAP, IES, and Revit, as well as exposure to real-world engineering challenges, industry practices, and varied project types. The intern will contribute to project deliverables serving clients and communities while developing technical, analytical, communication, and computer-aided drafting skills. The primary marketplace includes Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, with additional project opportunities throughout the United States. The position is based in Coffman’s Portland office, located downtown. Expected pay is $23.00–$26.00 per hour. The position is not eligible for sponsorship, and paid interview travel is not offered.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate engineering program.
• Completed at least two years of coursework toward an undergraduate engineering degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with computer-aided design and drafting software.

Responsibilities
