About The Position

DwyerOmega is seeking a motivated engineering student for a hands-on summer internship in Michigan City, Indiana. The internship runs from May through August 2027 and provides real-world experience in product design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement. The intern will support technical documentation, product validation, data analysis, prototype development, and process improvement initiatives, collaborating across functions and contributing to projects throughout the product lifecycle. The role involves creating CAD models, assemblies, and drawings; conducting development tests of pressure and load products in a laboratory; updating product documentation and bills of materials; managing engineering documentation in SolidWorks PDM; supporting scrap-reduction efforts; using 3D printing equipment; preparing project and test reports; and evaluating products for cost-reduction opportunities. The position is on-site and requires working in office and engineering environments, with occasional visits to manufacturing areas while following safety procedures and using PPE when required. The intern must be able to work at a computer for extended periods, view detailed technical information, move between work areas, communicate with colleagues, and occasionally lift or carry light materials or documents, typically up to 10–15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
