About The Position

24-MAG LLC is seeking experienced mechanical engineering professionals for a fully remote, freelance consulting engagement supporting advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives. The work applies expertise in engineering design, applied mechanics, computational modelling, simulation, Python programming, and AI-assisted coding workflows. Consultants will develop, solve, review, and validate complex engineering problems involving structural mechanics, thermal systems, mechanical design, and multiphysics simulation. The role combines engineering principles with computational analysis, numerical modelling, scientific programming, and coding-agent-assisted workflows. It is coding-intensive and requires practical experience using coding agents. The work includes developing technically rigorous engineering problems and computational models; preparing geometries, meshes, material definitions, simulation inputs, loads, boundary conditions, and solver parameters; and assessing simulation results for numerical consistency, physical plausibility, and compliance with requirements. Consultants will also create Python-based engineering solutions, automate analytical and simulation workflows, and review code and AI-generated analyses for technical correctness and reproducibility. Consultants will create realistic engineering questions and evaluation tasks, develop reference solutions, assess AI-generated work, identify technical errors, and provide detailed feedback. They will review designs, models, and simulation outputs, document modelling and validation approaches, and apply rigorous quality standards. The engagement is worldwide and fully remote, with approximately 15 hours per week and a flexible schedule. Compensation is output-based, paid per completed task meeting specifications, with an advertised rate range of $60–$120 per hour. Task specifications and compensation depend on individual assignments. Selection may include screening questions, an approximately 30-minute AI interview, and a hiring manager review. Selected professionals should be ready to begin their first assignment within 24–48 hours after onboarding. Work must not use confidential or proprietary information belonging to an employer, client, institution, or other third party.
