About The Position

Lincoln Electric's Harris Products Group location in Mason, OH is seeking bright, driven engineering individuals to join their Mechanical Engineering Development Program. This program is designed to connect academic foundations with real-world, hands-on experience, serving as a bridge between education and a future in advanced manufacturing, innovation, and engineering leadership. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of Harris Products Group's products, systems, and manufacturing processes through hands-on experience, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to product design, controls, testing, and electrical systems. The program aims to build upon education, develop problem-solving and engineering skills, and accelerate career growth. It includes an Immersion Day at the Cleveland, OH headquarters and comprehensive training at the Mason, Ohio headquarters.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering by June 2027
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • An engineering degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Industrial, or Material Science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Prior hands-on experience with machinery or equipment
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems, controls, and electronic components used in Harris Products Group products.
  • Develop and implement electrical and automation solutions that improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical teams on product development projects, capital investments, and production support initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with Planning, Finance, Quality, Operations, and other departments to understand how engineering decisions impact business results.
  • Apply Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies through formal training and hands-on projects focused on process optimization and problem-solving.
