About The Position

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer for its Energy Solutions offices in Louisville, KY, Fairfax, VA, and Richmond, VA. The Energy Solutions division is the fastest-growing part of the company. This role involves supporting all phases of performance contracts for clients, from conception to completion. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a technical background, capable of leading all aspects of the work. While this position is within the performance contracting division, engineers with strong backgrounds in HVAC design and commissioning can transition into energy engineering. The role also includes developing new opportunities, presenting to clients, and contributing to CMTA’s culture.

Requirements

• Minimum 0-3 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
• Minimum GPA: 3.39
• Candidates must have current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and present project opportunities to potential clients
• Support client meetings, industry events, and proposal development
• Project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
• Engineering design review of drawings and specifications
• Support the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes
• Help facilitate the contract administration process
• Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period
• Commission installed systems to validate performance
• Support the client through the warranty phase as needed
• Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop M&V reports
