About The Position

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer for its rapidly growing Energy Solutions office in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is crucial for supporting all phases of performance contracts for clients, from initial conception through completion. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background, capable of leading and contributing to various project aspects. While the position is within the performance contracting division, engineers with a solid foundation in HVAC design and commissioning can transition effectively into energy engineering. Beyond technical skills, this role involves developing new business opportunities, client presentations, and contributing to CMTA's positive company culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Minimum GPA: 3.39
  • Current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and present project opportunities to potential clients
  • Support client meetings, industry events, and proposal development
  • Project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
  • Engineering design review of drawings and specifications
  • Support the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes
  • Help facilitate the contract administration process
  • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period
  • Commission installed systems to validate performance
  • Support the client through the warranty phase as needed
  • Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop M&V reports
