About The Position
The Estimator will prepare accurate takeoffs for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects with values up to seven figures. The scope of work may include HVAC, plumbing, process piping, fire protection, and some electrical estimates. The employer is an established mechanical contractor serving north Florida and pursuing commercial and industrial mechanical work, including new installations, renovations, prefabrication, design-build, and heavy mechanical services.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of estimating experience with a commercial mechanical subcontractor.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred in lieu of trade experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate takeoffs for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
- Read specifications and bid documents.
- Prepare and submit RFIs.
- Attend project walkthroughs and job inspections.
- Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors.
- Maintain estimating software as required.
- Estimate work that may include HVAC, plumbing, process piping, fire protection, and some electrical scope.
