About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician in Sioux City, Iowa. The role diagnoses and repairs gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday with a 2:00 PM start, with occasional Saturdays as needed for full-time employees. Pay is $20.00–$33.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time Mechanic/Vehicle Technicians.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have own tools or be able to obtain own tools to complete all job functions.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use scan tools and laptop technology.
• Follow reasonable instructions from the shift leader.
• Work independently and/or with a team.
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment.
• Help maintain an effective and clean work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
