Mechanic I - 2nd shift

About The Position

The Mechanic will perform inspections and preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment, including semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and machinery. The role includes working on brakes, suspensions, electrical and lighting systems, and other mechanical components. The Mechanic also repairs hydraulic and electrical components, diagnoses problems to identify repair needs, and completes required paperwork. PADNOS is a full-service recycling company handling paper, plastic, metals, and electronic recycling for consumer and industrial clients throughout the United States. Founded over a century ago, the family-owned company has grown through four generations and continues to serve its team members, their families, and the communities it serves.

Requirements

At least one year of related diesel mechanic experience or related military training.
Mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Related experience and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used to repair semi-tractors and trailers.
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Attention to accuracy and detail.
Demonstrated safety consciousness.
Relevant military experience.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of welding and torching is helpful but not required.
