About The Position
The Mechanical Technician A 3 (Blaster) prepares surfaces for painting by washing, stripping, and masking. The role cleans interior and exterior areas as required; performs basic brush, dip, and spray stripper operations; mixes and applies chemicals such as cleaners, brighteners, and solvents; and applies conversion coat to details, assemblies, and the entire structure.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and five years of additional education and/or related experience; alternatively, an apprentice graduate or associate's degree in a relevant discipline and three years of related experience.
- May require certification.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, stripping, and masking.
- Clean interior and exterior areas as required.
- Perform basic brush, dip, and spray stripper operations.
- Mix and apply chemicals such as cleaners, brighteners, and solvents.
