About The Position

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Serve customers and provide customer service while demonstrating the company’s leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The role involves preparing merchandise, maintaining product freshness and inventory, keeping work areas and equipment clean and safe, and following company, health department, and applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and similar materials.
Qualified and able to operate power and other job tools, including an automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack.
Ability to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all department members.
Ability to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Nice To Haves

Meat work experience or similar food-preparation experience.
A past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display merchandise neatly, efficiently, and orderly.
Check product quality and ensure products are fresh, safe, and properly rotated.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Maintain display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness.
Unload trucks, sort merchandise, and prepare it for sale.
Provide good customer and associate relations.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Department policies and procedures.
Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
Communicate with customers and fellow associates.
Serve customers promptly and cheerfully, greet them, and help them find products.
Follow current department and company rules and duties, as well as applicable state and federal laws.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly; interact promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously, and professionally.
Follow company policies and procedures, especially those concerning dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely according to company policies and procedures.
