About The Position
Prepare and pack meat products to meet production demands while adhering to USDA safety and sanitation regulations and customer specifications. This is a second-shift position at Stock Yards in Aurora, Illinois. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with Saturdays as needed. Overtime may be required, with or without notice, and the finish time depends on when work is completed. The role involves continual work in refrigerated conditions of 35°F–45°F and periods in a freezer at -10°F to +10°F, with company-provided apparel.
Requirements
- Able to work continually in a refrigerated environment at 35°F–45°F and for periods of time in a freezer at -10°F to +10°F.
- Able to work overtime as needed, potentially with or without notice.
- Able to perform the physical activities described, including continuous standing and grasping; frequent lifting of 10–20 lbs, 25–50 lbs, and 50–100 lbs; and frequent pushing/pulling, climbing or balancing, stooping or squatting, kneeling, bending, manipulating objects, and reaching or turning.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or GED.
- Experience in production, warehouse, food processing, manufacturing, food production, or food service warehouse environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meat products in a fast-paced environment to feed production lines or prepare products for the next processing stage.
- Use tools, processes, and materials effectively to process and package meat products within planned schedules.
- Follow food safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Visually inspect meat products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Meet company standards and customer specifications.
- Assist with cleanliness of the general work area.
- Perform activities that may include receiving and selecting products, packaging, sorting, re-boxing, marination, further processing, and facility sanitation.
- Complete miscellaneous and other duties as assigned.
