About The Position

The Meat Clerk receives, rotates, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, and assists with merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses. The role helps Members by answering product questions and making recommendations, while maintaining cleaning, safety, and club standards in the meat department. The position also supports other departments as needed and requires regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department.

Responsibilities

• Answer Members’ questions about meat, poultry, and seafood, and make food product recommendations when appropriate.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds; assist the meat cutter with packaging freshly cut products and may grind hamburger meat.
• Inspect meat deliveries, store products, and ensure delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Keep meat, seafood, prepared-food, and cheese cases stocked; rotate products by expiration date and follow guidelines for disposing of damaged or expired products.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Clean and sanitize department equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
• Follow club policies and procedures and maintain department cleaning and safety standards.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for Members and team members.
• Deliver Member service and contribute to daily GOLD Member and club standards, including stocking, promotional execution, accurate signage, and clean, organized areas.
• Understand how to access and read department production and/or financial performance reporting and how consistent execution affects the business.
