About The Position

The Meat Clerk receives, rotates, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats and assists with merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses. The role helps Members by answering questions and recommending products, while maintaining cleaning, safety, quality, and merchandising standards in the meat department. The position may also involve working in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department.

Responsibilities

• Answer Member questions about meats, poultry, and seafood, and recommend food products when appropriate.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label meat, poultry, and seafood cuts, including grinds.
• Assist the meat cutter with packaging freshly cut meats and seafood; grind hamburger meat when needed.
• Inspect delivered meat and store it appropriately, ensuring it meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Keep meat, seafood, prepared-food, and cheese cases fully stocked.
• Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Dispose of damaged or expired products according to established guidelines.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, display fixtures, and department areas, including the cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
• Follow club policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate signage, stocked merchandise, promotional plans, and clean, organized club standards.
• Work as a team to deliver service excellence, resolve Member concerns, and support a safe, positive, inclusive environment.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
