MBSE Engineer for Space System Application

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory•Cambridge, MA
•Onsite

About The Position

Draper’s Digital Engineering and Integrated Capabilities group is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing system concepts, test concepts, requirements, and architecture for a new space-based application. The engineer will use Model Based Systems Engineering approaches to support systems development, from identifying system needs and generating use cases through developing system architecture and requirements. Work may also include mission-needs elucidation, mission engineering, trade-space exploration for integrated hardware/software systems, simulation-based performance analysis for complex systems and systems of systems, digital engineering and/or MBSE architecture definition, and briefing results to leadership or government sponsors. The candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, becoming knowledgeable in different problem domains, selecting relevant modeling and analysis techniques, developing or integrating multi-domain models at the required fidelity, and presenting results that support system-level analysis, performance trade-offs, and decision-making. Effective communication of technical concepts to customers, engineers, managers, and other stakeholders is essential. Applicants selected for this position must obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Consistent on-site availability is required. Draper is an independent nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with more than 2,000 employees. The posted U.S. base salary range is $75,000–$156,000. Draper offers programs intended to support work-life balance, including workplace flexibility, employee clubs, health and finance workshops, off-site social events, and discounts to local museums and cultural activities. Compensation details list base salary only and do not include bonuses or benefits.
