MBSE Engineer for Space System Application

Draper•Cambridge, MA
•$75,000 - $156,000•Onsite

About The Position

Draper’s Digital Engineering and Integrated Capabilities group is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing system concepts, test concepts, requirements, and architecture for a new space-based application. The engineer will apply Model Based Systems Engineering approaches throughout systems development, including identifying system needs, generating use cases, and defining system architecture and requirements. Work may also include mission-needs analysis and mission engineering; architecture and design trade-space exploration for integrated hardware and software systems; simulation-based performance analysis for complex systems and systems of systems; architecture definition using digital engineering or MBSE frameworks; and briefing results to leadership or government sponsors. The candidate will work on an interdisciplinary team, become knowledgeable in relevant problem domains, identify appropriate modeling and analysis techniques, and develop or integrate multi-domain models at the required fidelity. They will present results that support system-level analysis, performance trade-offs, and decision-making, and communicate technical concepts effectively to customers, engineers, managers, and other stakeholders. Applicants selected for this position must obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Consistent on-site support is required. The position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The stated U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $156,000. Draper describes work-life balance programs including workplace flexibility, employee clubs, health and finance workshops, off-site social events, and discounts to local museums and cultural activities.
