•$98,400 - $164,000•Remote

About The Position

The Tendering System Application Engineer serves as the primary technical architect for complex power systems and advanced energy infrastructure, supporting grid electrification sales initiatives as a technical lead within the Commercial Project Solutions team. The role bridges engineering and commercial tendering through technical validation, solution design, and cost estimation across DCS/SCADA, automation, protection and control, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and monitoring and diagnostics. The engineer translates customer needs into integrated technical architectures, validating technical viability and accurately scoping projects to support sales success. The role leads the technical definition of projects and provides technical oversight throughout the tender lifecycle. It also supports system interoperability, early identification and quantification of technical risks, and technical guidance for cross-functional stakeholders. The position is remote. GE Vernova states that the U.S. pay range is $98,400 to $164,000, with geographic differentials in certain areas and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience designing and architecting protection and control schemes, SCADA systems, and substation automation.
  • Understanding of substation communication protocols such as DNP3 and IEC61850, and IED/relay application principles.
  • Proficiency using Visio to produce conceptual engineering drawings, network architecture diagrams, and system layouts.
  • Ability to analyze technical specifications and translate them into actionable, efficient tender-phase project execution strategies.
