About The Position

Tonkin Mazda of Portland is seeking a driven automotive technician to diagnose and repair vehicles in a high-volume service department. The dealership offers state-of-the-art equipment, multiple alignment racks and tire machines, and up to two bays depending on productivity. Technicians receive paid in-person and online Mazda certification training, from Certified through Master, as well as reimbursement for ASE certifications. The company describes a team-focused, professional workplace with opportunities for development and advancement across brands and departments. The position uses a flat-rate pay plan, with top performers reaching upwards of 150 billed hours per pay period. The schedule is Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with hours that may vary.

Requirements

1–3 years of automotive repair or diagnostic experience.
Personal tools.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Perform automotive diagnostics and inspections.
Repair engine failures and mechanical and electrical systems, and replace parts.
Follow manufacturer specifications throughout the repair and servicing process.
Mentor and help other technicians on the Service Team.
