Part Time Math Tutor- Union City
About The Position
Think Zone Learning Center is hiring a part-time Math Tutor to provide personalized math instruction to K–8 students. Tutors help students strengthen their math foundations, build confidence, and develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. The center provides the curriculum, materials, and training; lesson planning is not required. The position is designed to fit around school schedules and offers 6–12 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours. Tutors typically work 2–4 shifts per week. Available shifts are Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM; Wednesday and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM; or Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Saturday availability is strongly preferred. The program runs from June 2, 2026, through June 5, 2027. The role is based at Think Zone Learning Center, 1776 Decoto Rd, Union City Blvd 94587, and pays $19.00–$20.00 per hour. Think Zone describes a supportive team environment and opportunities to progress from Tutor to Lead Tutor, Assistant Manager, and Learning Center Manager.
Requirements
- Enjoy helping others learn and working with children.
- Have a strong foundation in math.
- Communicate clearly and patiently.
- Be responsible and dependable.
- Be able to encourage and motivate younger students.
- Be currently in high school and at least 16 years old, currently in college, or have a high school diploma.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but is not required.
- Saturday availability is strongly preferred.
- Availability to work 2–4 shifts per week.
